3-D Innovation

Covered with canvas, three-dimensional geometric forms were constructed, derived from shapes depicted in my former abstractions. Fresh canvas facets were stitched to parts of cannibalized paintings. Scraps of canvas were pieced together into larger sections, foreshadowing large articulated constructions. Some of these 3-D forms immediately provoked visions of multi-unit compositions and/or increased scale. Full of ideas, these first forms were titled 'containers'.
